Our frozen dreams of a future we already know

When we were once lost, we dreamed.

When we waited, we dreamed of instant.

When we were machine, we dreamed of human.

When we travelled, we dreamed of virtual.

When we were cabled, we dreamed of wireless.

When we had hierarchy, we dreamed of networks.

When we were fixed, we dreamed of mobile.

When we were mute, we dreamed of a voice.

When it was slow, we dreamed of fast.

When it was closed, we dreamed of open.

When we had only profit, we dreamed of responsibility.

When we had separate devices, we dreamed of convergence.

When we had software, we dreamed of apps.

When we were denied, we dreamed of access.

When we paid, we dreamed of free.

When we had isolation, we dreamed of social.

When we had download, we dreamed of stream.

When we had presence, we dreamed of flexible.

When we had small data, we dreamed of Big.

When we had badges of success, we dreamed of courageous failure.

When we had place, we dreamed of space.

When we had hard drives, we dreamed of clouds.

When we had experts, we dreamed of sharing.

When we had only the payroll of the corporate leviathan, we dreamed of freedom.

When we were still, we dreamed of action.

When we were mass, we dreamed of one.

When our dreams came true, we froze.

When something can be anything, it may be nothing at all.
